Google Webmaster Tools
Google Verification does not guarantee that your site will be listed in the Google search either does it help in your rank. What it only does is provide you an overview of how Google views your site. You would need to have your website optimize such as having the right kind and density of keywords, description and page content.
You would need to have Google Webmaster tools to help you in handling all aspects of website management. It used to be called Google sitemaps but it is the new and improved version. Specifically, it comes with new programs that are developed to help users improve their site’s visibility on Google. To sum it up, Google Webmaster Tools gives useful stats and analysis to a website and these information is only shared to the owners of the site. Google Webmaster verification can be done by uploading an HTML file or through adding a META tag to the user’s home page.
Getting Started:
Google Webmaster Verification
First of all, you need to sign up for Google Webmaster tools. Then add your website and select the meta verification method. You would nee to verify your site’s ownership with one of these three methods before using Google Webmaster Tools:
HTML File Verification – You can do this by uploading a given file to the directory of your web server.
DNS Record Verification – You will have to verify ownership of the whole domain including every subdomains of the site at once.
Meta Tag Verification – To do this, you will have to add a given META tag to the homepage of the site.
Choose the verification method that works for you best.
You will then have to copy the Google meta verification code into Notepad or any preferred text editor. You will then have to copy the code that follows into the same text editor:
” %22%20%2F%3E%3Cmeta name=%22google-site-verification%22 content=%22googleid= ”
You will only have to replace the ID in the code with your id from the code from Google. Copy the completed code. Go to your homepage and open page properties. Paste the finished code into keywords text box after any keywords. Be sure to have the entire code pasted as the keyword box has a character limit. You might miss some part of the code if you have too many keywords. When this happens, check your keywords for you might want to delete the unnecessary ones. After successfully pasting the whole code, return to Google Webmaster tools and verify.
